I find "Pinch to Zoom" often becomes interpreted as an "Explorer mode" adjustment, if ones fingers are not perfectly aligned.
Some days I just don't want to use explorer mode completely, so there should be a setting to turn it completely off.
But some days one does want to use it, so it should be a checkbox, not a user_setting.conf item.
Yes there currently is a setting, but that does not turn it completely off.

The "Explorer mode" can be turned off completely from the settings. This is the mode where the information panels are displayed.
The map perspective cannot be turned off from regular settings, only user settings.
Honestly I use the app multiple hours a day and never activated the explorer mode by inadvertence, but I can try to improve the detection pattern.

Maybe make tilt need three fingers, so it doesn't compete with pinch zoom.

My fingers work like Jidanni's sometimes - I accidentally turn on explorer mode when I don't want to (which is all the time!). A toggle to completely disable it (and perspective maps) would get my vote.
