Despite installing GPS status to re-set the gps and keeping my Samsung S8 out facing the clear sky the track recorder only records in straight lines between a few waypoints. It does not accurately track the walked track.
My Samsung S8 has the latest update - version 9. How do I correct this issue?

Thanks for the info. I have followed your instructions and tried it out again yesterday. Although it is now better and does record some of my walk more accurately it still records straight lines for some of the longer sections of my walk (open fields with a clear sky). It did previously reflect my walk accurately prior to the latest Samsung update and with my phone in my pocket with the display turned off. Is there anything else you can suggest other than keeping my phone out visible to the sky?

Check that you're not running any Samsung performance mode or any performance widget/app.
