Hi and thanks for AlpineQuest!
I would like to offer an idea from 4pda.ru Russain forum for mobile devices and software – to add an additional user setting string (in user_settings.conf file) for Track recorder.
Now by default I have to stop and save the recorded track (or pause it) giving a name. Is it possible to save with a name any recorded track automatically right after I stop recording?
The idea is to have a opportunity to save a track at once (not to stop-save-give a name-OK) with a unique name in a format "date [year-month-day]-track recording start time-track recording end time"
A kind of 2019-02-15-0643_0702
New tracks should appear in the saved track directory any time I start and stop track recording.
Thanks in advance.

Re: User settings for track recording
I strongly support this!!!
Unfortunately, I'm not sure if this can be relatively easy done
How to handle resuming existing track if tracks are saved on every [long enough] stop?

Re: User settings for track recording
Hi,
I also would like to simplify this.
But in addition to burekbrigada point, there is something else to think about.
Currently, when the track recorder is paused, the current track remains displayed on the map. Then when it's stopped, the current track is saved and removed from the map.
If the track recorder directly goes from Started to Stopped, I think users won't understand why the track disappeared.
So what to do?

Re: User settings for track recording
hm, maybe ...
1. if user wants to resume, last saved track should be assumed?
2. Last saved track can be leaved on the map [maybe within some reasonable time, 1 day or so]
I really, really want autosaving, because only thing which i miss from OziExplorer is auto track start -no forgetting to start recording (i often lost interesting parts of my adventures because i forgot or simply could not start the recorder) . Of course, starting track recorder on startup of alpine is easy, but without auto saving pretty useless - that is reason why i didn't beg for it
