I have an issue with Alpine Quest which has developed in the last year or two.
I turn on GPS position and track recorder, it all starts fine and normally picks up double figures of GPS satellites.
Suddenly, it appears to lose GPS signal and show 0/0 satellites, GPS position and track recorder both stop.
It then will not pick up any satellites again until I turn GPS and track recorder off and back on again or sometimes even turn off Alpine Quest completely and back on again and even then sometimes it takes several times to do this.
It then normally immediately picks up double figures of satellites again.
It can do this a lot of times on one walk (but sometimes only once or twice).
Does this happen to others ?
Is there an easy fix for it ?
I have an HTC One phone if that is relevant.

Losing GPS signal and not picking up again
Re: Losing GPS signal and not picking up again
Suggest you try installing the GPS Status and Toolkit app from PlayStore. This should resolve most GPS related issues. It is one of the first apps that I always install on Android devices and I consider it essential for anyone using GPS. Pay for the PRO version as the cost is trivial.

Re: Losing GPS signal and not picking up again
Hi,
I did have this problem few times on my older HTC Desire. The only solution was to wait a long time (like 5 minutes) until the phone wanted to get signal again, so maybe something wrong with the chips used by HTC...
I'll second Yamble in his suggestion to use GPS Status to make some tests/maintenance with your GPS.
Sorry for not being of great help.
Best regards

Re: Losing GPS signal and not picking up again
I'd suggest battery optimization as a likely cause. The developer of "Geo Tracker - GPS tracker" points out this may also be a wrong time zone issue (if you have trouble getting a fix in the first place).
