Hello,
I installed Alpinequest on a NVidia Shield Tablet K1 with Android 7.0 and can't select map storage on the SD card. A message tells me that the system won't let me do it.
I restarted the device, reinstalled Alpinequest, gave the right to the application to access the SD card... but still can't.
Any idea what could be wrong ?
Thanks

Re: Unable to select storage on SD card
Ah, Google external SD permissions... good luck with that !!!
I do have my own solution to this, but it requires root plus some technical expertese to allow AQ to store its maps in a non-standard external SD folder location.
However, you should be able to store AQ data in Google's preferred folder location on an external SD, at the risk of losing it all if you ever de-install AQ.
I have done this on a non-rooted Galaxy Tab-A 10.1 running stock Android 7.0, so I know that it does work.
My other devices are all rooted and configured to store AQ data in a non-standard location on external SD cards. I NEVER want to lose my offline map repository of UK OSGB which I spent two weeks compiling. I do not give a rats ars* about Google's misguided security "features", which seem to be primarily designed to wind up the user base !!!

Re: Unable to select storage on SD card
Hi marcs,
On some devices it's a real pain...
You can try tips from this troubleshooting list. Let me know if something works.
Alternatively, you can reformat your SD card and let Android "adopt" it to turn is into an internal storage. You'll then have all the rights you want on it.
Hope it helps

Re: Unable to select storage on SD card
I finally found that if I installed Alpinequest for the main account then I could select the SD card. However from a different account it wasn't possible, even if the account had all the rights.

Thanks for this additional information.

Re: [closed] Unable to select storage on SD card
On another device (Huawei Y5), the storage on SD card was not available for Alpinequest. This changed when I modified the default memory setting to "SD card" (in Android storage/memory settings) !
