Hi John,
Yes I can confirm that the import of SHP files is planned for soon (currently under work).
At best for the next update, otherwise the next one.

Thanx for answer. I'd like to tell you i like your program very much. It is already so usefull.
But i'd like to suggest another feaure. I'd like that there would be an option to measure area while walking (option in track record).

I've published a beta version of AlpineQuest with ShapeFile import support.
