Hi,
You just have to put them on your SD card in AlpineQuest's landmarks folder: "alpinequest/landmarks/". Then use the Landmarks Explorer to select and display them on the map.
Best regards

That is exactly what I have done but under Landmarks explorer the file dose not show up.
It is a file just downloaded from geocaching.com. Could be the file corrupt or wrongly formatted?

Thanks for your help,
Eugen

Hi,
I tested .loc files from geocaching.com and they work fine.
Which version of the application do you use? can you try with last 1.2.3 and send me the '/sdcard/alpinequest/alpinequest.log' file so I can have a look at what's wrong.
Best regards

I'm running version 1.2.3. I have tried with 3 different .loc files but no luck, all in the landmarks folder.
Sorry I could not attach the log file, see next:

I have a similar problem in that I can see my LOC file on my Android 2.3 Galaxy Quest S2 and can see the details (location, distance and title) of the first item (of 20) in the LOC file in the Landmarks folder but I can't see the other 19. I can select the top item and see it in the map view but none of the others display here either. It is as if the end of record markers are not being picked up and so AQ thinks there is only one record in the file.

Hi,
OK I didn't understood that all waypoints were contained in the same file.
AlpineQuest actually supposes that there is only one waypoints (location) in a .LOC file, that's why you only see the first waypoint. But when you select a .LOC waypoint file from a folder, all other waypoint files from the same folder are also displayed.
I will handle multiple waypoints .LOC files in next version (1.2.6, try to release it under one week), however it will be available only in the full version like other multiple waypoint files (.GPX and .KML).
Best regards,
Sorry for the inconvenience

Hi,
Version 1.2.6 is now on the Market and can browse multiple waypoints LOC files.
Long-touch a waypoint and select "Display all" to display all waypoints of the file.
Best regards.

Gave the new LOC files a try at the weekend band this is a great step forward as you can now see all of the LOC files instead of just the first one in the file. Couldn't work out how to have them shown on a map when the focus is not your actual fixed position - for example to see LOC waypoints in an area when planning a future route - as they display initially but as soon as you move the map, even slightly, it clears them all. A few other things I couldn't work out but will give it a all a better test in a few weeks when I have a bit more time and then report back.

Thanks to AQ for the fast response in adding this functionaility.

Hi,
Once you have selected a loc waypoint (or any kind of waypoint), it should not be cleared until you ask for it (select the clear option). So what happens to you seems to be a bug.

Note that once browsing a LOC file containing multiple waypoints, you can display all of them at one time by long-clicking on one and selecting "Display all".

Let me know concerning your issue,
Best regards
