Re: OSGB comunity map levels

I uploaded the attachment to Computer\Samsung Galaxy S7\Phone\Android\data\psyberia.alpinequest.full\ and tried it in Computer\Samsung Galaxy S7\Phone\Android\data\psyberia.alpinequest.full\files. Restarted the application but could not see the Zoom level displayed. Have I put the user_settings.conf...

[closed] OSGB comunity map levels

I am trying to work out the best levels to use when creating an OS map from Bing. Unfortunately the levels shown in the community map 1 to 11 do not relate to the levels using the Bing maps in Mobac levels 10 to 17. I notice in the community map level 11 is OS Explorer 1:25,000 and Level 9 & 10 ...

Re: OSGB config file

I hadn't seen the workspace option, I will delve into it a bit further.

In the meantime I will start to create maps with MOBAC as I am already familiar with this.
I have a few questions related to an optimised OSGB map but will create a new thread for this.
Thanks for your help.

Re: OSGB config file

OK thanks Psyberia-Support, I have been using this but have found I get quite a few errors and looking through the forum wondered if my own key would have been better. If downloading the maps from the community map list is it possible to save individual areas and back up to PC to avoid filling the S...

[closed] OSGB config file

I am using the map creator in AQ to download the OSGB maps.
I have a bing key which I believe according to another post can be used for the Bing downloads.

Where can I find the config file to enter the key?

GPX track splits when uploaded to Google maps

If I upload an exported .GPX file to Every Trail the track that I have recorded displays complete as walked which matches the way it is displayed on the phone. If I then upload the same exported file (either .GPX or .KML) the track is split into 3 sections only displaying one section at a time, with...

Re: Large track slows app until unusable

Distance between points is 656 ft I didn't really understand this setting. What's the difference between this other setting: "Minimum distance between points I have set to 6 ft but the recommended is 16 ft MAx". I didn't make that very clear, the 656 ft is the Maximum distance between poi...

Re: Geolocation stops when returning to Alpinequest

Thanks AlpineQuest, This is odd, I have tried to reproduce the problem and it seems to be working OK. Only difference is it was after recording a track for a few hours and the app was starting to behave erratically, grinding to a halt when saving the track. When I first upgraded to V1.08 I installed...

Re: Large track slows app until unusable

I had guessed the problem was caused by screen redraw and processor usage when saving, as the file gets to a certain size it takes longer to save a file and this in turn uses more processing power for longer. Up to now I have been using 'My Tracks' to record tracks which works extremely well, I can ...

[fixed] Large track slows app until unusable

If I create a track for a few hours AlpineQuest runs so slow it can't be used. I get an error message that says: "Sorry Activity AlpineQuest (in application AlpineQues GPS Hiking) is not responding". It then gives the option to force close or wait. If I select wait I get the message reappe...

Re: Record a track name

I have been thinking about the above and on reflection it probably wouldn't be necessary. The reason I thought this would be useful is when I have several tracks in the same area there isn't a date or time to help identify them however it might be a better solution to display the file date and time ...

[closed] Geolocation stops when returning to Alpinequest

I have been playing with Alpinequest v1.0.8 and have found a problem. If you are tracking a route and go to the home screen, returning to Alpinequest via the shortcut following holding down the home button works OK but if you select any of the normal shortcuts it restarts, the tracking appears to co...

[done] Record a track name

When recording a track name, if you let the app do it it uses the date and time which is really useful, if you enter the name you lose the date and time.

Can we have an option that will add the date and time to the track as a suffix if required?

Re: No GPS Icon on AlpineQuest 1.08

Sorry folks, I missed the new option in the settings 'Auto Toggle Geolocation' This makes the Tracking act as I would expect it to, when closing the GPS tab, going to the home screen or another app the tracking and GPS continues, brilliant! I think this is the way users would expect this to work and...

Re: No GPS Icon on AlpineQuest 1.08

When activating the option that allows you to close the geolocation tab and keep the GPS on, you have no more visual tip that shows the GPS is on. You need to press the 'Menu' button to show the Android status bar and the GPS icon. Maybe it could be good to: - Add an setting to turn off the full sc...
