Although I could find how to enable tracking using this forum post, thanks!, I think it is not intuitive and would like to suggest to redesign it. I would expect to find the functionality to make a track log under Landmarks and to find a direct button to enable it.

Would it be possible to have a "Status Bar Notification" for AlpineQuest, see Creating Status Bar Notifications and FLAG_ONGOING_EVENT. When you have AlipineQuest running in the background, for instance recording a track, it is good to know AlpineQuest is still running and have an easy way...

No, I do not think these bars are "not really usefull", just like you I use them to see the progress when the internet access is slow so please keep them

I like Alpinequest and even more the new 1.06 version with openable/closable dialogs, but I was wondering (already in the previous versions) what the three lines of the progress dialog mean or how they work. It is good be able to see the progress but it would be even better to know judge it exactly ...
