Re: Saving and deleting tracks in 2.0
To "Site Admin": Thank you for a prompt and helpful reply. I can appreciate very well that it is a challenge to keep a good app (appli?) synchronized with the ever-changing versions of Android, especially when that app is the best of a crowded field. One of the characteristics of AlpineQue...

Re: Saving and deleting tracks in 2.0
I really don't wish to belabor the issue, nor incite to acrimony, but I think I will offer one more rejoinder before letting it go. I would very much like to be able to save a track file (easily!) as previously, with a name such as "track_20170206_135249_vignemale.gpx". Unless I am missing...

Re: New version pushed to phone
I just want to add a little sense of urgency to this issue. ".gpx" has (finally; let us all render thanks) become a de facto standard for exchange of track and waypoint data. I'd like it to be the default, but I'll be happy if it's made easy to invoke in AlpineQuest. Additionally, I'd sure...

[closed] AQ logo replaced by Android; SD card must be removed
I'm guessing that this is still another irritating restriction from the Google/Samsung/mobile service provider people, following on the Android 4.4 changes, but... 1) The AlpineQuest logo that normal identifies the app disappeared from my screen, replaced by a generic Android icon. AlpineQuest remai...

Re: Landmarks: unable to save a waypoint
Thank you once again for your helpful reply. I have complete success today! For the benefit of anyone else who may look at this thread I'll add that the most important step was to use the utilities on the PC to fix the file organization on the gizmo after attaching it via USB cable.

Re: Landmarks: unable to save a waypoint
Well, I'm back again, with apologies. None of my usual file managers (file explorers) will now permit me to create any folder anywhere on my SD card. From what I can find posted to the main Android forum, this is an intentional restriction with Android 4.4.2. The first question, of course, is whethe...

[closed] Landmarks: unable to save a waypoint
At some time during the last month or two, I have lost the ability to save a waypoint. An attempt to do so yields: (1) "Information: The requested action 'create-local-waypoint' failed..." (2) "An error occurred. Failed to save the file to '[filename].wpt'. Throws: java.io.FileNotFoun...
