Re: Auto-routing and more
The latest version of AQ started using Brouting "by default" . I have not installed Brouting as I am (...was) happy with the existing method. However while routing still works OK, the elevation contour display has stopped working with "no elevation data" message. This was handy t...

Re: OS 6 inch Historical Maps died
From the OS website.... " Under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988, ‘Crown’ copyright exists for a period of 50 years from the end of the year in which the work was first published. This means that any OS mapping which was created prior to 1 April 2015 will be protected by Crown copyri...

OS 6 inch Historical Maps died
Hi The OS Historical Maps have gone off-line ... this time the Six Inch 1888-1913. Fortunately I have stored most of the maps in which I am interested (mainly deceased railway lines), but trying to go to new areas I get an error (on tablet and on phone) bad code 301 - Moved permanently The source of...

Re: [resolved] problem transfering maps to android 11 device
If you have access to a PC, the method I used to transfer data from an old tablet onto a new phone was: On the new machine create the map folders as normal but with a minimum amount of data in them. Connect the old machine to Windows via USB in "file transfer" mode and copy everything you ...

25 inch UK Historical OS Maps
Hi The download rate for these Historical maps makes them impossible to use (not the fault of the app!!!). I was wondering why this is the case seeing as the 6 inch equivalents download at a quite reasonable rate. The possibility of using the individual 25 inch county maps also seems to have been re...

What 3 Words
Hi, I was thinking of using What3Words as my Secondary Location Format, since in the UK at least the emergency services are starting to recommend its use for emergency callouts. However it is not in the list of alternatives. I suspect that this may be for one of two reasons - 1) Copyright or 2) Memo...

Re: Loss of GPS in the background
Ingensor, do you use an Android phone? I am having a similar problem on my Android tablet. It used to be able to get a fix in the house when near a window, but now it takes a long time outside before it gets a fix. This is not only with AQ however - all apps which use the GPS show the same behaviour...

Re: Is there an online account?
Hi, I do exactly that by using an Android app called DropSync. There are also DriveSync and OneSync. The free versions only allow you to sync one folder pair but the paid version (about £5 / $5 / €5) lets you sync as many as you want. So on returning home from a walk as soon as the tablet connects t...

Re: Keypad does not appear
Just for the record I have always had this problem with Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 using Android 7.0.
It always works OK after restarting the app.

Re: OSM download slow
The OSM France seems to work OK - not blisteringly fast, but liveable with. It doesn't just cover France!!
In my opinion it is just as good if not better than the Standard Carto or Mapnik versions - roads are coloured differently but it's worth a look.

Re: Save an Area to Image
I'm glad it's not only me that has the problem with the + and - symbols!! I too find that the resolution keeps adjusting itself when I accidentally linger too long in the bottom corner! Is there a way to switch off this functionality once you set it at the best for you, or at least increase the &quo...

Re: "Pinch to Zoom" often becomes interpreted as an "Explorer mode" adjustment
My fingers work like Jidanni's sometimes - I accidentally turn on explorer mode when I don't want to (which is all the time!). A toggle to completely disable it (and perspective maps) would get my vote.
