Re: Suggested feature: 1. Quick autorouting without prompt; 2. Quick autorouting to selected path
I agree (1) would be a convenient feature to have and I think I would find it useful. Think I could manage without (2) and use (1) instead but if it was being implemented perhaps it could be incorporated at the same time as the feature to mute the alarm and show the distance from the path which I re...

Re: AlpineQuest: track recording: energy consumption - comparison with other apps?
This response is simply based on joint personal experience over a period of over a year. My wife and I were both very happy viewranger users until it was taken over by outdooractive. Fortunately amongst the many moans about the new app, was one along the lines of forget Outdooractive use Alpinequest...

Re: Huawei phone which doesn't stop tracking?
This may not help but here goes. We both have Honor 9 phones (part of the Huawei group). Obviously I use Alpine Quest but my wife uses a different mapping app simply because it links to its website where if it can be bothered it synchronises her tracks to give an annual total. She doesn't use it for...

Re: Main menu function button long pressing
That is very interesting and useful to know, still so much to learn. I am sure François did an enhancement a few months ago to enable to change the sequence of main menu custom icons. (Thus avoiding the need to delete and rebuild). The original request was in French from Boowoo. I have forgotten how...

Re: Hopefully simple Follow path enhancement.
Thanks for the update François, I was starting to wonder. Maybe not quite as simple as I imagined it would be.
Kind regards
David

Hi
I'm glad you sorted what you wanted to do. I don't think it is anything I would want to do. I was more interested in your earlier Thread 'Set of waypoints'
Regards
David

Re: Gpx to Wpt
Hi Alex, Interested in your request. My understanding of gpx files is that it has a fairly loose structure with presumably a series of keywords. For what it is worth I am successfully importing Garmin (which I imagine is one of the more common ones) gpx files. In my experience AQ will recognise: way...

Re: Zooming between scales
Hi woldsweather, It never occurred to me that this feature was available and it closely matches the desktop Memory Map Application. Whilst of limited use to me as the maps are so old I have tested it and it does work for me. Like so much of AQ it exceeds my expectations. I am guessing that the reaso...

Re: Zooming between scales
My answer would be that you need to have both sheets available in Displayed maps and then use the opacity factor to display one or the other then zoom in the usual way.

Re: Hopefully simple Follow path enhancement.
Hi François, Yes absolutely I'll try to add something like this, that temporarily disable path following audible warning until you reach the path again I have added the crucial extra words audible warning. Namely that I would still like to see the distance from the planned route but without the audi...

Hopefully simple Follow path enhancement.
Cutting the story short I had created what I hoped to be a nice route, and that turned out to be true. We found we had more time at our disposal so I created a detour on the fly. It was not too long before AQ was complaining. Removing my hearing aids was not a particularly elegant solution. I am won...

Re: Set of waypoints
It's true that now it activate multi-selection when you long press an item. Hi Francois, If only that statement was true! I was seriously thinking I was being thoroughly stupid because I could not get it to work. After spending many hours I have discovered that there is a radio toggle List/Preview ...

Re: Set of waypoints
Hi François. David, open the placemark explorer, then locate you set and long press it. In the menu, you'll see "Split waypoints" close to the end I must be missing something but this is what I get :? Start 20220803 _Start.jpg Set - The set has been renamed from Set of Waypoints 1 but that...
