Done that but still no joy. It appears that others have had problems with GPx on moto G. I have submitted a query to their technical support. Sadly, I done expect to get this resolved in time to use the file this coming weekend. However thank you for your prompt and very helpful replies.

Right. I have loaded file manager. And the GPx files are not under sd card - download. Nor under internal storage. And The GPx file I downloaded last year is on my drive, not download. So the problem is clearly at the downloading stage. Though it is not clear why it's a problem this tear but not las...
