I just posted in my review on the play store that I thought the UI needed a refresh so I'm glad to hear it's getting it. Hi, thanks for my delay in getting back to this. As i have used the app more and learned more about how tracking works, I have seen better how the app works and would handle battery changes. But your info is very helpful to clarify. I've decided to get a larger battery to give me a buffer for longer...

Battery change or unexpected shutdown
How does the program handle needing to change the battery or some unexpected shutdown, such as thermal, battery, etc?
On some of the fitness trackers I have used they have a setting where you set the time to consider it the same route, so I was wondering how AQ handles a situation like this.
