[closed] Unable to download landmark files in Android 11 (ENOENT: no such file

Screenshot_20220405-enoent.png Used AQ for many years. Now on v. 2.3.0. Files stored in external storage under Android/data so uninstall/reinstall is out of the question. Used to be able to either copy landmarks/* to a backup folder or a cloud account, or zip up landmarks and copy the zip file. The...

Re: I use offline app for hunting

I've published a new beta with two version, one using feet and one switching to decimal miles. .. and reinstated the previously available option of yards up to one mile I hope? The comment about chains was partly tongue in cheek but I do measure them occasionally, at which point I fire up my calcul...

Re: I use offline app for hunting

I guess not everyone is happy with this Correct. The Imperial system of measurement is not decimal so division by 10 is inappropriate. Why not point out to the one person that asked for this change that there is already an option to display yardage up to 1 mile if they find the numbers using feet a...

Re: The Scale Bar in v.2

I know that. Can you not make the display a bit more visually consistent when map name is displayed? Seems a bit perverse to have the zoom level hiding within the scale ruler, then hopping outside the ruler at the next zoom level, only to hop back under the ruler at the next level. If I do not displ...

Re: UK Historic Maps, 25 inch

About the Holes layers, it is strange the way NLS have done that.

I find that having just one Holes layer (england_holes) makes the code a bit less cumbersome and I find the result acceptable.

Re: Changes to the Move To Centre functionality

Thanks, I obviously have to use sets already since if you don't then anything over about a thousand individual waypoints slows the app to a crawl. Still haven't worked out how to move a waypoint which is part of an area (.are) file. If I can work that out I may be able to file a proper bug report co...

Re: UK Historic Maps, 25 inch

Thank you so much.

Actually I tried porting the code myself and added a few more south coast counties. Wasn't sure about the 'holes' layers for missing OS sheets, so I just left them out. That worked fine in 1.4.22b and I'm happy with the result.

[closed] The Scale Bar in v.2

Is anyone else finding the new-look scale bar in v.2 very offputting? I will refrain from commenting on the loss of the black/white striped bar which I found more visible in the field. The information box containing the scale bar also contains the current zoom level. I use this info when out and abo...

Re: Changes to the Move To Centre functionality

OK you can't please everyone. But please note the comment which inevitably follows such an admission "that has never been a significant problem ... because I have easily corrected my mistake". Because the move can only occur on the visible screen, inadvertently moved waypoints can be quick...

Re: UK Historic Maps, 25 inch

Wow, that's unfortunate. Thanks for looking at it. I'm not seeing Hampshire and Dorset, do I have to be on AQ 2.0 not 1.4.22b? I would be quite happy to try and work out what would edits need to be done to the COM.46.AQX file and roll my own for a while, if I could only get my head around it. I thin...

[closed] UK Historic Maps, 25 inch

Just noticed that some map sheets available on the NLS website are not on AQ. (For example, search for Portland Bill). The link used in AQ is probably pointing at the wrong map set. I think the configuration file should point to the 25 inch 1892-1949 set. For reference, the URL is http://maps.nls.uk...

[closed] Map displayed when Viewing landmark Sets

In v.2 When viewing landmark sets, is there any way to remove the mini-map which takes up half the screen when I want to see the list of waypoints in a set. This animated map is very offputting. It shows some sort of arbitrary base map unrelated to the maps I use. From a cognitive perspective this i...

Re: Changes to the Move To Centre functionality

I too need the ability to make minor changes to waypoint positions. The lack of this feature means I cannot upgrade to v.2.

Re: Historic maps

Correction: ... the NLS started down south and haven't got as far as Scotland yet (ironic). I retract that statement. I misread a recent announcement by NLS. They already have a large number of OS 25 inch Scottish maps online for the inhabited urban and rural areas. It is the England and Wales shee...
